Legco ITB Panel on residential broadband service

The Information Technology and Broadcasting Panel of the Legislative Council met this afternoon, and I testified on behalf of Internet Society Hong Kong (ISOC HK), representing users and consumers, over the agenda item of "provision of consumer information in relation to residential broadband use in Hong Kong."

We support that a clear and fair standard for comparing ISP performance can be established between the TA and the industry, with user inputs, in the near future. The TA has committed to develop and publish guidelines on best practices and service guarantees. ISOC HK and myself personally will continue to monitor this issue.
