Hi, Charles,

I agree with your viewpoint. I would suggest the money to use to help the SMEs and/or Schools to recruit IT support staffs so as to increase the competitive power in the worldwide. If the Government wants to do more, then it is good to help the students from primary school up to university students to buy notebook computers and/or computer accessories. It may stimulate the lifetime learning to embrace new technology by using computer.

Hi, all,

I am so lucky because I just note that the NSW government in Australia will allow the students to keep the laptops when they finished high school from today Australian newspaper about "NSW students will get netbooks in 2009". (,24897,24732259-15306,00.html) Hope that HK Government will have similar plans in the near future.

Thanks so much for sharing. Giving a PC to each student (esp those in needs) is as always one of the best ways to invest in our future.

Hi, Charles,

You are welcome. Netbook is only the hardware side. The software sides should include wireless internet connection and IT support staff inside schools so as to use education/game software packages to enhance the creative mind of the students. God bless the future of HK.

Hi, all,

From today Australian newspaper mentions that the NSW state government is now issuing the expression of interest to the public about the netbooks for the high schools.(,24897,24744847-15306,00.html) They do the job very fast and very efficient. The NSW government also requests the consortium approach for the tender.
